NBC 10 I-Team: Lawmaker (Rep. Bob Lancia) raises alarm about RI’s 911 system
CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — A RI lawmaker is raising the alarm about a problem the NBC 10 I-Team has been investigating for months: a staffing shortage inside the state’s E-911 Center in Scituate, where every 911 call in the state is initially answered.  Rep. Bob Lancia, a Republican who represents Cranston, said the staffing problems have reached a critical level, forcing telecommunicators to put thousands of 911 calls on hold. He visited the E-911 center in January at the request of employees, who told him they are at the end of their rope.

Promoting School Choice (Warwick Beacon) In observance of National School Choice Week, students, parents and administrators from across the state joined Thursday at the State House at an event planned by Rhode Island Families for School Choice and Ed Choice Rhode Island. Students, parents, and teachers from Catholic, Christian, Jewish and independent schools wore signature yellow scarves that made them easily identifiable from legislators, lobbyists and others arriving at the State House. 2/2/18
